Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Thurman pursued his passion for filmmaking at Georgia State University, where he earned a degree in Film and Television while honing his craft in the university’s production program. Thurman continued his education at the University of Southern California's Graduate Film Program, where he created a series of acclaimed short films, including DREAM JAR, DON'T FEED THE CAT, and RUN. These films garnered a range of prestigious accolades, including Best Writer, Best Director, and Best Cinematography. Recently, Thurman served as Director of Photography for the upcoming comedy feature SAY LESS (2025), produced by the team behind the hit TV show MONK. Additionally, he was awarded the prestigious Sloan Foundation Grant through USC for his screenplay THE DEMON CORE, which he directed and produced.
